Our History

The Somerville Companies in South East Asia date back more than forty years, from modest beginnings in Hong Kong in 1958. Presently, separate Somerville Companies operate in five countries, as full-service regional centers effectively covering the whole of South East Asia. A strong commitment to quality has, from the beginning, been the underlying philosophy behind our operations. Our aim has always been to provide our customers with best in design, in equipment, in service and in support.

Our founder, Mr. William Somerville is the Chairman and CEO of the Somerville Group. He has considerable experience in Refrigeration, Food Service Equipment, Display Cases, etc. He has lived and worked in many countries in this region and is familiar with many different market situations. Somerville has expanded its operation to cover many countries in Asia; with the headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand the company has affiliates in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Hong Kong and China with three manufacturing facilities in Prachinburi, Thailand, Panyu, South China, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Somerville covers most of Asia from the Middle East, India, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and the Pacific.
